Eagle Lake Public Works is currently under the supervision of Daniel Pitchenese and Kevin Pitchenese and they currently operate a Zenon microfiltration Water Treatment Plant which was constructed in the year 2000 and includes a water tower.
Johnathon Bruyere was the first Water Plant Operator and was later joined by William Sky. Since 2009 Daniel Pitchenese has been employed by Eagle Lake to treat and make sure our drinking water is safe to consume. Eagle Lake is currently in the phase of upgrading our Water Treatment Plant with a grant from the Ontario Government to replace our Membrane Filters. This project is ongoing as of yet with a time frame yet to be announced.
The Ojibwe community is approximately 25 km southwest of Dryden and a two hour drive from the U.S. border. Eagle Lake’s total registered population as of April 2016 is 630 residents.
